GENOMAS HUÉSPED DE VARIANTE ÚNICA DE COVID EN SUELO ANTÁRTICO

 

 

Recientemente Csabai et al. han encontrado una muestra metagenómica de la Antártica que contiene rastros de variantes únicas de SARS-CoV-2. Este es un breve seguimientos del informe donde intentamos encontrar la huella genética de los huéspedes. Con razonable seguridad podríamos identificar material genético de la mitocondria de Homo sapiens, mono verde y hámster Chino. Los dos últimos probablemente originados en líneas celulares Vero-E6 (o COS-7) y CHO respectivamente, que son medios de cultivo en laboratorio para estudiar virus, incluidos el SARS-CoV-2 y sus más próximos linajes
